We haven’t heard from Apollo Brown in a few months after his last job with Joel Ortiz, Mona Lisa, but he was already cooking another of his projects, this time, alone with him his city, Detroit, as the protagonist.
The sound of Detroit has always been unique, starting with J-Dilla, passing through Black Milk and ending at Apollo Brown. Always looking for a dirty warmth and masterful handling of samples, drums and bass lines in classic MPCs.
“Sincerely, Detroit” wants to get us back to that urban melancholy starting with its cover and following the voices that have represented the sound of this city, such as Royce Da 5’9″, Crown Nation, Black Milk, Trick Trick, Elzhi or Slum Village from the 29th of October.
For now, we can taste this project with their first single “God Help Me (feat. Black Milk, Ketchphraze & DJ Los.“.
